TEACHER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Founded in 1967, ACAT’s Teacher Certification Program (TCP) is the first and longest running program in the United States. ACAT’s faculty comes from various backgrounds and trainings, giving trainees experience with a rich array of approaches. Alumni work in private practice, at health clinics and studios, and as faculty at prominent institutions, including The Juilliard School, Yale School of Drama, N.Y.U.’s Tisch and Steinhardt Schools, and many more. As a membership organization, ACAT also fosters a vibrant post-graduate community, providing ongoing training, workshops and events.
ACAT’s teacher certification program is a three-year, 1,600-hour course. Trainees generally attend class for 15 hours per week, 30 weeks per year. Our three 10-week terms begin in September, January and March. Trainees may begin in any term.
