Course Description: We are pleased to offer dedicated students of the Alexander Technique the opportunity to undertake an intensive course of study for personal health and well-being within the ACAT Teacher Certification Program. Intensive students participate in the training class, receiving hands-on instruction from the faculty, and covering the material from the first year curriculum which focuses on use of the self. Intensive students may also have the opportunity to receive hands-on work from third students in the program; and will join in group and partner explorations. Intensive participants are not instructed in hands-on or other teaching skills.

New Schedule starting in Fall 2016: There are 2 sections:

Daytime classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:45.

Evening/Weekend classes* meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:30 pm to 9:15 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm.

*Note: Class days/times will be determined on a term-by-term basis, based on TCP enrollment

The ACAT Teacher Certification Program is in session for three 10-week terms per year (September through June).

Fees:
Weekly: $380/week
Daily attendance: one or more days per week for 10 weeks – $950 x number of days per week
Full time: $3000 per term
*Optional Private Lesson Package: Ten 30-minute lessons for $450
*Must be enrolled in intensive concurrently/Director of Training will assign a member of the ACAT faculty for these lessons
Application Fee: $25
Interview Lesson with TCP Director: $75

Admission: To arrange to participate in ACAT’s Health and Well Being Intensive, please contact Brooke Lieb, Director of Training, by email; or by phone at (212) 633-2229, Ext. 3. The pre-requisite is a minimum of 10 lessons (exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis). The admission process includes completing the Intensive Course Application, submitting a letter from your primary teacher and a personal interview lesson with the Director of The Teacher Certification Program. Admission is at the discretion of the TCP Director and is contingent on space in the program.
